Hello reader!
You may notice that my previous post (my first post of the “new” blog) was posted about a month and a half ago. So much for coming back with a bang, right?
Nah, that wasn’t really my plan to be honest. I knew I needed time to figure out what I wanted to do. And, on top of that, I was working full time again which made me incredibly tired. The downside of recovering from depression and time off work, I suppose.
But now I’m on my second week of vacation, and I feel better than ever!
In Sweden we have a legal right to take 5 weeks of vacation every year. Most people take 4 weeks in the summer, and the last week some other time during the year. I’m no different. So by now, I’m only halfway through. I do feel very lucky to live here.
So far, I’ve been visiting my family for one week, and doing small little adventures both with them, but also here at home with hubby. We are planning more adventures, and some small renovations in our apartment as well.
For the first time in years, I’ve also brought my camera with me on these little adventures. So I’ve gotten the chance to practice my photography skills. It was one of my biggest hobbies around 12-14 years ago, so it has been really fun to try it out again.

European Bison/Wisent from a park that breeds them here in Sweden. Beautiful animals!

The other day we were out in the woods, picking a whole lot of blueberries. (Or as you people in other countries might know them; bilberries). Another reason I’m grateful to live where I live. Sweden (among some other countries) have a thing called “freedom to roam“, or directly translated from swedish; “All man’s right“. It means that we have the right to roam pretty freely, no matter who owns the land. So, we can go to a forest and pick berries or mushrooms as much as we want. Even if we aren’t the owners of that forest.
So, don’t be surprised if I share some recipes with bilberries in the near future… Our freezer is full of them. 😉
Another thing we’ve had time to do during vacation, is planning our workouts. Neither one of us enjoy going to the gym, lifting weights. We don’t like running. We don’t like at-home-bodyweight-workouts. We’re simply impossible people!
So, we had to figure out what we could do that would be fun first, and a workout second. We landed on badminton!
So from now on, we’ve decided to start our Saturday mornings with a game of badminton at a nearby court. After that, we’ll go home and have our regular weekend-brunch. Now that is a tradition that even I am looking forward to! And it includes exercise!?
I realize that this post turned out a bit disorganized, my apologies. Hopefully the next one will be a bit more structured. 🙂 I’ll blame my highly motivated vacation-brain!
Talk to you soon!
